Robertson Davies 17 ENGELSTALIGE epubs
His books (30 in all) often deliberately rambled, touching on magic, medicine, Jungian analysis, murder, art forgery and funeral parlours – and anything else that struck his remarkable imagination. My favourite of his books – What's Bred in the Bone – was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1986 and although he attracted some flak (Joyce Carol Oates said he did not deal with class or gender issues) he always had interesting things to say.
Davies was undoubtedly quirky so perhaps it's best to leave you with one of his more offbeat observations: “All mothers think their children are oaks, but the world never lacks for cabbages.”
