Note: SW Release 20.7.1 will not upgrade from 20.7.  SW Release 20.7.1 can only be upgraded from SW Release 20.6 and below.

If you upgrade from 20.7 to 20.7.1 you will receive a message stating that "the latest SW version is already installed".

 

Windows® 10 Updates May Cause Driver Installation Issues

This issue is resolved in Microsoft Hot Fix available after March 8, 2016.

Early Windows® 10 updates may cause driver installs to time out or fail due to extended wait time (up to 4 minutes per Ethernet port). In most cases, despite the timeout, the driver installs correctly and is usable. If the driver does not install correctly, retry the installation process. Note that Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager relies on correctly installed drivers. This issue has not been observed when using the initial Release to Market (RTM) version of Windows 10.

While executing iSCSI boot procedure, OS may crash during last stage of Windows Server 2008 R2* installation on iSCSI LUN using Release 20.7 drivers.

If you use Release 20.7 drivers during OS install to iSCSI LUN using Intel® XL710 for iSCSI connection, deployment of Windows Server 2008 R2 from an installation server or media may be terminated by crash after first platform reboot from WinPE environment when using iSCSI boot procedure.

 - For users who need all files from Intel® Network Connections CD.
 - Not all Intel® Ethernet Adapters and Intel® Ethernet Controllers are supported under every version of Windows, Linux, or FreeBSD.

Windows Server Core* Installation
Intel recommends using the command line to install Intel® Network Connections software on Windows* Server Core installs. See Installing the Base Driver and Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software via the Command Line for detailed instructions.

Note: No web browser is associated with the files being launched. If you use Autorun.exe on the CD to launch the install in Windows* Server Core, clicking the buttons to View User Guides or Networking at Intel will result in a Windows error message.

Intel Ethernet Connections CD – an updated driver package from the company Intel.
