The mega variant is the biggest of the four variants of the codec pack. It contains several additional components. Most importantly ACM/VFW codecs that can be used for video encoding/editing.

    Added VP9 hardware acceleration option (DXVA2-CB only). Currently only the NVIDIA GTX 950/960/750v2 are capable of doing full accelerated decoding VP9 video.
    madVR is now capable of outputting 3D video. It uses 3D frame packed output on compatible systems (Windows 8.1 or newer / HDMI 1.4+) and Side-By-Side (SBS) output on older systems.
    LAV Video decoder is capable of decoding H.264 MVC 3D video after installing Intel media SDK plugin (separate download)
    LAV Splitter supports reading H.264 MVC video from Matroska (.MKV) and (decrypted) Bluray discs (.M2TS/.SSIF)

64-bit

Since version 10.0.0 this package contains both 32-bit and 64-bit codecs. It is no longer necessary to install 64-bit codecs separately.
